The Mississauga Basement Flooding Prevention Rebate Program offers a rebate of up to $7,500 to help with the cost of installing basement flooding prevention measures.

Program Eligibility

• Be an individual, not a corporation or other business entity.
• Be a registered owner of a detached home, semi-detached home, duplex, or townhouse within the City of Mississauga.
• Have no outstanding taxes, fees or charges owed to the City or any municipal by-law violations at the property.
• Have not received a sump pump rebate from the City of Mississauga in the last 10 years.
• All measures must be installed by a qualified, licensed skilled trade contractor in Ontario.
• A pre-consultation with the City and authorization from the condo board are required before submitting an application.

Protection measures may not be appropriate for non-standard foundation drain connections. If your foundation drain connects to the sanitary sewer, you must consult with the Region of Peel before submitting a rebate application.

Eligible Expenses

The maximum rebate you can apply for is $7,500.

Eligible costs also include:

• Contractor labour, material, and taxes.
• Consulting or inspection costs such as CCTV used to determine appropriate measures.

How to Apply

Online

• You can complete applications online by following the instructions in the user guide.
• Begin the application process.
• Upload your supporting documents with your application, including your tax bill, an itemized quote with proposed measures, and an original invoice from the same contractor detailing measures installed.
