The Home Renovation Savings Program (HRSP), in partnership with Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy, offers financial incentives to homeowners aiming to improve their home’s energy efficiency.
Key Program Details:
Homeowners can access a range of rebates of up to 30 per cent for energy-efficient home improvements.
Eligible Projects:
Homeowners can use funds for various energy-efficient upgrades, such as:
- Upgrading insulation, windows, and doors to improve energy efficiency.
- Installing energy-efficient heating systems and smart thermostats.
- Implementing air sealing measures to reduce energy loss.
Application Requirements & Home Energy Assessment Compliance
The program may require a home energy assessment to determine eligibility and identify potential energy-saving opportunities. Homeowners must provide the necessary documentation, including building permits and proof of energy-efficient upgrades. All renovations must comply with local building codes and zoning regulations.
A home energy assessment is not required to receive the program rebates on heat pumps, solar panels, and energy storage.
Process:
- Before beginning any renovation, fill out the online form at www.homerenovationsavings.ca to view a list of licensed Service Organizations in your area. Contact a Service Organization and complete an initial home energy assessment.
- See which upgrades are recommended for your home and choose at least two to complete. To qualify for rebates, at least two eligible projects must be completed.
- After upgrades and renovations are completed, a final assessment with the same registered energy advisor must be done.
- Your rebates will be sent after your energy advisor submits all required documents.
