Our Members are committed to investing in the next generation of decision-makers and innovators. TRREB’s Past President’s Scholarship help pave the way for talented secondary school students as they continue their journey to higher education.

For nearly two decades, this initiative has awarded scholarships on behalf of our Members to graduating high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education.

Investing in Youth

TRREB Member REALTORS® know the value of education. The TRREB Past President’s Scholarship program was established in 2007 to celebrate and support final year high school students pursuing post-secondary studies.

Eighty-one deserving students have received scholarships through the TRREB Past President’s Scholarship program. Included are the following eight winners from 2025: Akishai Sabaratnasarma, James Thomas, Matthew Luke, Zaima Dewan, Aliya Arnette, Kaydan Gupta, Michal Ilyayev, Sanford Purdon. Apply Now: TRREB’s Scholarship Application 2026

Be one of eight recipients of this year’s Toronto Regional Real Estate Board Past President’s Scholarship awards.

Eligible students may apply for one of eight awards: two $5,000 first-place, two $2,500 second-place, two $2,000 third-place awards, and two $1,500 fourth-place awards.

Student award recipients have benefitted from $286,500 in scholarship money since the beginning of this program in 2007.

To qualify, students must demonstrate academic achievement, show an interest in a field related to the real estate industry, leadership skills and community involvement, address a real estate industry-related question, and write a 1,500- to 1,800-word essay on one of two topics:

  1. Technology and innovation are rapidly transforming the real estate industry. How do you think emerging technologies (such as AI, virtual tours, or digital transactions) are changing the way people buy and sell homes in the GTA? Discuss both the opportunities and potential challenges.
  2. The housing market in the GTA affects more than just buyers and sellers—it impacts communities. In what ways has the current real estate landscape impacted local neighbourhoods, and how can REALTORS® and community members can work together to promote more inclusive, sustainable neighbourhoods?

The deadline to apply is 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
