We extend particularcongratulations to Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, Mississauga Mayor-elect Alvin Tedjo, Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, Caledon Mayor–elect Christina Early, Vaughan Mayor Steven Del Duca, Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Richmond Hill Mayor David West, Newmarket Mayor John Taylor, and Barrie Mayor Alex Nuttall, as well as councillors elected throughout their communities.

We also congratulate the newly elected and returning mayors and councillors across Durham and Halton regions.

Every day, REALTORS® help families and individuals—including first-time buyers, tenants and landlords—navigate one of life’s most significant financial decisions: finding, buying or selling a home. As Canada’s economic engine, our region needs bold municipal leadership to improve housing affordability and increase supply. That means reducing costs, cutting red tape, expanding housing choices, and ensuring infrastructure keeps pace with growth. These actions will help support a healthy local economy, thriving businesses and more attainable communities.

TRREB stands ready to work with mayors and council members across the region to advance practical solutions that increase housing supply, strengthen local economies and build more liveable communities.

TRREB also thanks the municipal leaders who served during the previous term for their dedication to their communities and to public service. We wish them every success in their future endeavours.
