TRREB is donating $35,000 to the Canadian Red Cross for the Alberta Wildfires Appeal, as part of CREA’s REALTORS® Care fundraising campaign.
Thousands of Albertans have been evacuated from their homes and many surrounding communities are affected by poor air quality and widespread fires.
These donations are used to assist those impacted in Jasper and the other affected areas in Alberta with immediate and ongoing relief including financial assistance, and support to evacuees and the communities hosting them.
When a large-scale disaster strikes, the REALTOR® community comes together to support those who are impacted. Since 2010, REALTORS® across Canada have raised more than $2.4 million for disaster victims via the Canadian Red Cross. These funds will continue to support the ongoing recovery and resilience efforts in response to the wildfires and support community preparedness and risk reduction for future all-hazard disaster events within Alberta.
