Striving for Professionalism
Hosting Your Pathways to Success
A new record was met. TRREB REALTOR® QUEST 2024, Canada’s largest real estate conference and trade show, welcomed over 11,000 real estate and industry professionals. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with over 250 exhibitors, network with thousands of industry professionals, and learn from our inspiring keynote and speaker series lineup.
Growing Skills
Staying ahead of the curve is a passion for our Members. That’s why our catalogue of Professional Development sessions and attendance grows each year. Our courses can help enhance professionalism, build technology skills, or propel compliance knowledge. Expert-led sessions are available online and at two convenient locations in Toronto and Barrie. In 2025, TRREB will open a new office in Peel to provide localized Member services for TRREB Members living and/or working in this region.
Ensuring Integrity
Trust the experts who prioritize the best interests of buyers, renters, and sellers and ensure they are making informed real estate decisions. TRREB REALTORS® are here to guide clients with integrity and help them understand the real estate market and that their transaction is supported every step of the way. Watch to learn why working with a REALTOR® is essential.
Empowering Futures
Making an Impact
Supporting Habitat for Humanity GTA Build Days is one of the many ways our REALTORS® are making affordable homeownership a reality. Once again, our Members joined Habitat for Humanity for two Build Days. Since 2014, over 132 TRREB Members have participated in 19 build days, totalling 939 volunteer hours and over $1.2M donated since 2004. Our social impact goes even further supporting many projects and families totaling $5M.
Stepping Up
TRREB REALTORS® play a vital role in the communities they serve. Each year, the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation (ORCF) raises funds to support shelter-related organizations. Through their support of shelters, food banks, and breakfast programs, they positively impact those who are most vulnerable. We partnered with ORCF to donate nearly $900,000, through the annual Every REALTOR® Campaign, with an additional $5,000 for their annual motorcycle ride, and $4,000 was raised during the TRREB REALTOR® QUEST event.
Investing in Youth
We believe in the power of education and supporting the next generation. Since 2007, TRREB’s Past President’s Scholarship has awarded $244,000 to 66 remarkable students, providing financial assistance to pursue higher education. This year, we welcomed seven new students with inspiring futures to this prestigious list of winners.
Supporting Community
TRREB donated $35,000 to the Red Cross for the Alberta Wildfires Appeal, totalling $105,000 when you add federal and Alberta government’s matching donations. These donations assisted those impacted in Jasper and other affected areas in Alberta with immediate and ongoing relief.
Guiding and Leading
“We’re ending off the year on accomplishments that empower our Members to take their business to the next level with cutting-edge technology and enhanced services. Through tuning into focus groups and closely listening to suggestions and feedback, we turned ideas into action. As we look ahead, more is to come, including the return of TRREB REALTOR® QUEST on May 14 and 15, 2025. This signature event will mark where professionalism meets excellence alongside inspiring speakers and an immersive trade show floor.”
TRREB President Jennifer Pearce
“At TRREB, we are enhancing integrity and shaping the future of real estate through innovative technology, growing our Professional Development lineup, and working with other associations to expand the data our Members need. Our Members receive the necessary training to conduct their business efficiently and successfully while upholding a higher standard of professionalism. That’s why consumers know they can trust a TRREB REALTOR®. We’re committed to helping them excel for years to come.”
TRREB CEO John DiMichele
Benchmarking Success
For the first time, we released a video to highlight our mid-year accomplishments. From strengthening the power of our technology and tools and increasing data access by forming partnerships with other associations to advocating for improved policies and expanding our professional development lineup, TRREB is committed to helping our Members excel. We all have a role to play in building a stronger Association; together, we are making a meaningful impact on the community and striving for a better tomorrow.
Celebrating Our Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors play a key role in the overall success of TRREB. Together, they help maintain a high degree of professionalism and ensure that Members have access to ample learning opportunities. The Board continue to strengthen the tools and services available to our Members, including pursuing new MLS® System enhancements to provide more comprehensive information to REALTORS® and consumers.
Making Progress
Building Partnerships
We’re continuing to build fellow relationships. Ten more real estate Boards and Associations joined the growing list of current PropTx partners, moving us one step closer to achieving a collective goal shared by all Ontario REALTORS®: a provincewide database. These partnerships provide greater access to data and transparency for both Members and the clients they serve. TRREB strives to provide the best possible services and will continue to deliver access to even more data to our Members.
Advocating for the Future
TRREB collaborated with CANCEA to conduct first-of-its-kind research on the impact of housing unaffordability. Households spending more than 50 per cent of their income on housing experienced a lower well-being score, comparable to some of the most significant health challenges, including cancer. Rising housing costs are critical social issues with far-reaching consequences for community cohesion and sustainability.
Advancing Policies
TRREB is committed to working with all levels of government to advance policies that empower housing innovation and improve affordability. This year, TRREB helped deliver several major policy advancements, such as advocating for Bill 185, eliminating the mortgage stress test requirements for both insured and uninsured borrowers, enhanced focus on transit-oriented development around higher density housing, and the extension of 30-year insured mortgage amortizations to all first-time homebuyers. As we move forward, our strategic priority remains top of mind for a brighter and more sustainable real estate industry.
